Antiques Appraisal

Bring in your antique for expert appraiser Mark Moran to asses and evaluate, free of charge.  Or just come to watch the fun!

The Cudahy Family Library Endowment Fund is raffling off three wonderful prizes in support of the Library.  Tickets are available for purchase for $2 each or 3 for $5.  The drawing will be held at October 17, 2014, at 10:15pm; need not be present to win.

The Cudahy Family Library Endowment Fund's annual fundraiser, A Harvest Tasting, will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014.  This is a fun event that brings the community together, raises funds for the Library, and provides guests with an opportunity to sample the wares from local restaurants and stores.  We hope you can join us!

1. Print out or pick up a reading log at the Circulation or Reference Desk and write down any books that you read or listen to between June 1 and August 31, 2014.

2. Turn in your completed logs to be entered in a drawing on Tuesday, September 3, 2014, for great prizes…the more logs you complete, the better your chances of winning!

Sheridan Park 100th Anniversary Booklet for Sale

In celebration of Sheridan's Park 100th anniversary in 2014, Library staff have published a 44-page, illustrated history of the park.  The booklet is available for purchase at the Circulation Desk for $10.00.  Learn about the history of the park, take a look at some historic photos, and read through some wonderful personal recollections!

 

Free Digital Magazines Now Available!

The Cudahy Family Library has subscribed to a great new service called Zinio that allows you to download the digital copies of many popular magazines to your computer, tablet, or mobile device.  Over 100 popular magazines such as Newsweek, US Weekly, and National Geographic are available at no charge.  Download as many as you want; keep them as long as you want!

iPads Now Available to Borrow

The Cudahy Family Library has purchased iPad 2s for our patrons to check out and use anywhere in the Library.  Library card holders age 18 and up may borrow an iPad for up to 2 hours per day.  The iPads are pre-loaded with many fun and useful apps as well as a variety of classic eBooks.  See the adult reference librarian to check one out today! 

NEW!  A limited number of iPads are now available for 7-day loans - take one home and get comfortable with this great technology!

The iPads were made possible thanks to generous funding from Ladish Co. Foundation and the Friends of Cudahy Library.

 

Discounted Movie Tickets

The Cudahy Family Library is now selling Marcus Theatre movie tickets at discounted rates.  Profits from the ticket sales will benefit the Library.

Diamond tickets sell for $8 each and can be used for any show, any time
Silver tickets sell for $6.50 each and can be used Sunday - Friday and Saturdays before 5:30pm.  Silver tickets cannot be used for features listed as extra special attractions, special engagement, or VIP seating.

For every 2 tickets purchased, you will receive a snack cash voucher good for $3 off concessions.

The tickets never expire.  3D shows are subject to a surcharge.

The Cudahy Family Library is pleased to offer a free shredder for public use.  Located in our copy center, the self-serve, cross-cut shredder is a quiet and efficient way to destroy unwanted paper records, CD/DVDs, and credit cards.
