Local Author Visit

Art Schmitz, a native Milwaukeean, considers his surviving the Battle of Bastogne to be his best good fortune, but he has much more to his to his story!  Come hear about his experiences as he shares his book A Tourist in Uniform: World War II Memories.

Friends of Cudahy Library Mini-Sale

The Friends of Cudahy Library will be hosting a mini-sale at the Cudahy Farmer's Market, held in the Library's parking lot on Wednesdays, 3:30 - 7:30 pm.  Items for sale include books, CDs, DVDs, and children's materials.  The items will change each week, so be sure to stop by often!

 

Raffle Tickets Now Available

The Cudahy Family Library Endowment Fund is selling raffle tickets to benefit the Library.

First Prize: 2 tickets to the Green Bay Packers vs. the Detroit Lions game in Green Bay, November 15, 2015 - donated by Patrick Cudahy, LLC

Second Prize: HP 2-in-1, 13.3" touch screen laptop - donated by Lakeside Centerless Grinding

Third Prize: $250 in cash - donated by Landmark Credit Union

The tickets sell for just $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.  The drawing will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015, at 10:15 pm as part of the Library's Harvest Tasting event.  You do not need to be present to win.

How it works:

Print out or pick up a reading log at the Circulation or Reference Desk and write down any books that you read or listen to between June 1 and August 31, 2015.

Turn in your completed logs to be entered in a drawing on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, for great prizes…the more logs you complete, the better your chances of winning!

Marcus Movie Tickets Are Back!

Sheridan Park 100th Anniversary Booklet for Sale

In celebration of Sheridan's Park 100th anniversary in 2014, Library staff have published a 44-page, illustrated history of the park.  The booklet is available for purchase at the Circulation Desk for $10.00.  Learn about the history of the park, take a look at some historic photos, and read through some wonderful personal recollections!

 

Free Digital Magazines Now Available!

The Cudahy Family Library has subscribed to a great new service called Zinio that allows you to download the digital copies of many popular magazines to your computer, tablet, or mobile device.  Over 100 popular magazines such as Newsweek, US Weekly, and National Geographic are available at no charge.  Download as many as you want; keep them as long as you want!

iPads Now Available to Borrow

The Cudahy Family Library has purchased iPad 2s for our patrons to check out and use anywhere in the Library.  Library card holders age 18 and up may borrow an iPad for up to 2 hours per day.  The iPads are pre-loaded with many fun and useful apps as well as a variety of classic eBooks.  See the adult reference librarian to check one out today! 

NEW!  A limited number of iPads are now available for 7-day loans - take one home and get comfortable with this great technology!

The iPads were made possible thanks to generous funding from Ladish Co. Foundation and the Friends of Cudahy Library.
